Danao is in the north part of cebu.
I have a plan to visit my friend's house. I want to witness the parade.
Oh c'm on Let's go.
When I arrived to Danao. I discovered that it is near the beach.
The beach isn't similar wih the white sand, but as you look at the waves its kind of romantic feeling.
The parade is about to start.
The parade has an individual team, and the float is the head of the parade.
Many dancers are dancing together with the loud music.
The music is delightful to the ears. The local people are also witnessing the parade.
The dancers with their colorful customes looks fantastic.
I think they are elementary students. I don't know what the festival means, and I somewhat feel unsatisfied.
When I saw Miss Danao float. I waved my hands but I didn't see any reaction from them.
The chairs sat by the girls are plastic, so I think Miss danao pageant isn't that a big like Miss Philippines.
Every time I visited another festival. I can see people selling sunglasses and other things.
It is another interesting element to look at every festival.
The man in the picture is selling nice sunglasses and he also did a nice pose when i took him a picture.
The pedicab is a common transportation in Cebu particularly in danao.
The pedicab doesn't have any meter. The fare is negotiable.
It depends on the distance on how much are you going to pay.
The minimum fare is 5 pesos.
I arrived at my friend's house.
For Korean people they see the houses in Cebu unsatisfactory. But for filipino it is already enough for them.
The houses in Cebu are different from Korea, because here in Cebu they only have summer season,
There were many food prepared for us.
First food name is "Pancit". It is similar to korean food "jabche"
The ingredients of pancit are noodles, meat, and some vegetables.
Another food is "Humba" and it is similar to korean food "galbizzim"
Fried lapu-lapu fish is similar with "dagumbari".
This is a desert called mango float. The recipe for this desert has been posted in my blog
last week. It is very sweet and delicious.
There are many familly pictures around the living room and there is a good sound system as well.
Here in the philippines, it is customary for the person
who invited a visitor to offer them to eat first before the family does.
So we had our delicious lunch and then we went outside to take a tour of Danao city.
The first thing I saw when I went outside were people using a videoke system to sing songs.
The videoke system is similar to Korean "norebang"
What makes it interesting is that in our country, Korea, our people are shy to sing aloud
along the streets because we lack confidence that we sound very well but the filipinos
are very confident in singing aloud along the streets regardless of how good or bad they sound.
The old man is tenderizing the meat.
Maybe he will make into a beef jerky.
Now he is slicing the meat. and then he laid it out to dry under the sun.
I know that koreans usually buy this kind of jerky.
They can determine that Korean beef jerky is different from a Philippine beef jerky.
If you want to buy it, you must taste it first so that you will not get disappointed.
This picture shows how to dry the meat under the sun.
It looks unhealthy since it is dried beside the street, but this is just a family business
and it's not a large factory for beef jerky so don't expect anything bigger.
If you like, you can buy at the factory which makes beef jerky.
To add flavor, they spread a hint of sesame seeds around the jerky during the drying process.
I Korea, if ever there's a big event in one of the villages or cities in korea,
people there killed meat and share the meat to its neighbors.
Lechon's cooking time is 1-2 hour. The pig is already died and the cook's face is
about to die also.
At this point, the lechon now looks crispy and well cooked.
When I ate it in the restaurant. The lechon's oil is carried away.
Koreans also like the taste of the lechon.
As what you can see in the picture. This is not a motorcycle shop, but it is
a place for cockfighting. I am curious and I went inside.
The entrance fee is 50 pesos, but my friend didn't let us pay.
The rooster is used for fighting. This place is made out of wood and some chairs are broken
The audience are enjoying the cockfighting.
The audience bet for the rooster and win or lose everybody brings home money
The two rooster are now fighting. The rooster's life is at risk, because there is a possibility that the rooster
will die. Philippines cockfighting uses a small knife which is put at the rooster's feet.
It is different in Korea.
The man puts a 10 cm knife in the rooster's foot.
The winner gets a medical treatment after the fight.
The looser is cooked by the people.
As i was watching the cockfighting, outside there are many people who are enjoying another game.
The game used three coins and drop into the stone.
The three coins are being drop 3 until the person see the 3 faces of th coins.
Long time ago, when I was a highschool student.
I can remember that coin game we used to play with my classmates
It's so interesting today.
